New York State Learning Standards and Performance Indicators Addressed by this Learning Experience:
Include the full wording of the standard(s) and specific performance indicator(s).
All learning standards listed in the Geometry
Problem Statement:
This should be posed as a problem that students will be addressing. This will be the focus of the learning experience.
To better prepare our students for the new New York State Learning Standards and Performance Indicators for Geometry which will be given the first time in June 2009, we will map out our revised curriculum, alligning the curriculum with all standards and indicators. Included, we will be attaching documents which will be used for instruction in our new course this year. With each unit we will be providing students with an outline. The outline includes the unit’s topics, essential questions, vocabulary, objectives, and a list of learning standards and performance indicators that will be covered.
Essential Question:
This is one focus question that promotes inquiry based learning and allows for multiple solutions and processes.
How can we be certain that all NYS Learning Standards and Performance Indicators are addressed in our curriculum at Ogdensburg Free Academy.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this learning experience students will be able to:
Students will benefit from a curriculum review of the new Algebra II with Trigonometry course, because using Learning Focused, we can be assured that no Performance Indicators are overlooked.
Necessary Resources:
List all materials that the teacher or students need to complete this learning experience.
Textbook(s), Workbook(s): Prentice Hall Mathematics New York Geometry

Instructional Modifications:
List all modifications to the classroom setting as well as those used to enhance learning for all students.
We are currently teaching this course for the first time this year. We have been making necessary modifications for the next school year during this learning experience. Since we are using a new textbook series, we have had to recreate notes, quizzes tests, review packets, etc.
Time used for Planning:
Time spent without students to prepare.
We have spent well over 30 hours working on this new curriculum.
Time for Implementation & Assessment:
List each day that the learning experience occurs along with the timeframe of the day in minutes.
This learning experience will be after school, evenings, and during the week-end.
Assessment Tools:
List all forms of assessment for the learning experience.

Reflection:
Share the pros and cons of the learning experience. State any modifications that you would make next time this lesson is implemented.
By previously working on the Algebra Curriulum in Learning Focused, I was able to make modifications in my plan to complete geometry. These modification made my Learning Focued experience improve.
Student Work:
Attach one sample of student work that demonstrates a mastery, average, or below average level.
Rigor and Relevance Target:
The Rigor/Relevance Framework has four quadrants. Each is labeled with a term that characterizes the learning performance of the student at that level. Select the quadrant that is most appropriate regarding this learning experience.
Provide Supporting Information to Validate the Quadrant in Which This Learning Experience is Located.
