SENSE IT
The Student Enabled Network of Sensors for the Environment using Innovative Technology (SENSE IT) project integrates science, technology, pre‐engineering and mathematics (STEM) s kills into a robust Interdisciplinary curricula and teacher development effort by teaching high school students to design, Build, deploy and interpret their own environmental sensors. The project will foster STEM career awareness among students, teachers, guidance counselors, administrators and parents.
Who is Eligible: High School Teachers.
Also, at least one guidance counselor from each school must participate in a STEM Career Awareness workshop.
Where: Clarkson University, Potsdam
When: This is a two year program, beginning summer 2009 and ending June 2011.
High School teacher participants will receive:
‐ Stipends for attending summer institutes
‐ Opportunities to earn graduate credit
‐Classroom equipment to implement the project
