Exploring Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Evolution Overview

Genetics and Evolutionary Biology are essential life science concepts for teachers to understand. This 5-day institute for middle school and high school teachers will make connections between genetics, evolution, and DNA. In the summer institute, teachers will learn how scientists use computers in the cutting-edge field of bioinformatics to study differences in the genes of organisms. Teachers will learn inquiry-based activities that can be implemented in the classroom.
