Putting the Science in Health Sciences
July 28 - August 1, 2008

Instructor:
Dr. Scott D. Minor, Associate Dean for Health Sciences

This five-day Institute will provide Middle and High School faculty opportunities to develop examples 1) from the functioning human body when teaching science, technology, and mathematics, and 2) for the application of science, technology and mathematics to issues of health care and health professions. Middle and High School age students are very interested in their bodies and how their bodies function. Developing examples in Health Sciences will enhance teaching of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, as basic sciences, and support the teaching and learning of health and life issues during those formative years. Hands-on examples will be used and developed for classes.
